The University of Hong Kong School of Professional and Continuing Education (SPACE) is the first institution in the Asia-Pacific region dedicated to providing lifelong learning opportunities through its extramural programmes. Since its establishment in 1956/57, SPACE has upheld the University of Hong Kong’s commitment to lifelong learning, offering a wide range of educational programmes to serve the professional development needs of the community. Over 3 million course enrolments have been recorded since its inception.
SPACE currently offers part-time programmes and full-time overseas degree programmes across 23 different disciplines, organised under three schools: the School of Business and Finance, the School of Humanities and Law, and the School of Life Sciences and Technology. The courses span both award-bearing certificate and diploma programmes, as well as non-award bearing executive training programmes. Additionally, SPACE collaborates with the Po Leung Kuk to operate the HKU SPACE Po Leung Kuk Stanley Ho Community College, which provides full-time sub-degree programmes. As an integral part of the University of Hong Kong, SPACE is dedicated to offering quality lifelong learning opportunities that support personal and professional development, as well as societal progress.
