District 303 China, Hong Kong & Macau of Lions Clubs International: 60 Years of Unwavering Service, Pursuing the Noble Cause of Philanthropy
The first Lions Club in Hong Kong was established in 1955, marking the beginning of the Lions movement in the Hong Kong and Macau region. Through the tireless efforts of the dedicated members, the International Association of Lions Clubs officially approved the establishment of “District 303 China, Hong Kong & Macau” in 1960, injecting lasting momentum into the charitable and public welfare endeavors in Hong Kong and Macau.
As the representative of the international Lions organization in the Hong Kong and Macau region, District 303 upholds the mission of “encouraging people to serve their communities, their nations and the world, without personal financial reward,” actively engaging in various charitable and public welfare initiatives to benefit society and help those in need. Over the past six decades, the members of District 303 have demonstrated unwavering spirit, continually expanding the scope of their philanthropic work, embodying the Lions spirit and earning widespread recognition from all walks of life.
The public welfare projects undertaken by District 303 cover a wide range of areas, including poverty alleviation, education and medical assistance, as well as environmental protection and greening, reaching out to local communities and caring for the underprivileged groups, with the goal of building a better and more harmonious society. During the pandemic, District 303 took the lead in donating medical supplies, supporting hospitals in the fight against the virus, and conducting various relief efforts, fully demonstrating the power of the Lions spirit.
Going forward, District 303 China, Hong Kong & Macau of Lions Clubs International will continue to uphold the “We Serve” motto, expanding the reach of its philanthropic endeavors and mobilizing more passionate individuals to participate in various charitable and public welfare activities, working together to contribute to the brighter future of Hong Kong and Macau.
